Project #17 - Painting Projects

    While we were in Abundancia we realized there were additional student projects we could do help out the community. When the government public health workers were in Abundancia to do the Chagas testing, when they found positives they would send us to find more members of the household. It was very difficult to find the right house especially if it was a high numbered house. They mentioned that they had also had many problems in the past finding people. The next day a project was initiated to paint the house numbers on every single house so that it was clearly visible from the street. This project turned out to aid us significantly in the other projects we did and to be able to find members. The chief of the village was very happy because it was a project that he had wanted done for a long time. The next day he approached us and said he would like it if the front gate was painted white. During the next two days, he worked with us to paint the gate.
