Project #16 - Arts and Crafts

    We spent a lot of time building up relationships with the women in the village. We tried to have an Arts and Crafts night once a week. It was amazing how creative some were and how quickly they caught on. Below is a list of some of the arts and crafts we made. In our first activity we provided felt hearts. The women filled them with material and sewed them together. On the outside they attached lace ribbons buttons and beads.  Another activity the women made bead bracelets all left over beads were passed on to the children for their own project. One week the women made yarn dolls. Earlier in our visit to Abundancia we had taken pictures of all the families. On one day, using cardboard, material, lace and ribbons, the women made frames for their family pictures.
